Executive Director, Children’s Aid Foundation of Halton
Burlington, ON
Supporting Better Outcomes for Children and Families in Halton
The Children’s Aid Foundation of Halton (CAFH) is a charitable organization dedicated to improving outcomes for vulnerable children, youth, and families across the Halton region. As the philanthropic partner of the Halton Children’s Aid Society, the Foundation plays a critical role in bridging funding gaps that government resources alone cannot address. CAFH works closely with the Society, which is responsible for supporting an average of 5,000 at-risk children and youth in the Halton region each year. Since 1990, with the support of generous, caring donors and sponsors, CAFH has distributed over $8 million in support of the Halton Children’s Aid Society.
Leading the Next Chapter of Impact
CAFH is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organization at an important moment in its evolution. Having built strong momentum through trusted relationships, prudent stewardship, and diversified fundraising approaches, the Foundation is now focused on strengthening and growing its revenue base to ensure long term sustainability and impact. Reporting to, and working closely with an engaged Board of Directors, this role presents a unique opportunity to shape CAFH’s future by championing its fundraising strategy, deepening donor and community engagement, and strengthening alignment with the Children’s Aid Society of Halton. The Executive Director will play a central role in balancing continuity with thoughtful innovation, ensuring that the work of the Foundation remains relevant, resilient, and impactful. The role is both strategic and hands‑on, requiring the ability to move fluidly between long‑term planning and day‑to‑day execution.
The Leader We Are Seeking
The ideal candidate is a values based, relationship focused executive with experience leading traditional and innovative fundraising approaches to donor engagement and revenue growth. They bring sound judgment and superior communication skills, along with the confidence to serve as a visible ambassador for the Foundation. Experience in child welfare is considered an asset; individuals without direct sector experience should demonstrate a clear commitment to understanding and engaging deeply with the importance of child welfare. Above all, CAFH is seeking a leader who can build trust, grow revenues sustainably, and advance meaningful impact for children, youth, and families across Halton region.
