Vice President, Software Development, Vena Solutions

Toronto

Hybrid

Vena Solutions is a global leader in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Corporate Performance Management (CPM), helping thousands of organizations transform the way they plan, forecast and make decisions. Founded in Toronto in 2011, Vena recognized that finance teams didn't want to abandon Excel—they wanted to unlock its full potential within a modern, enterprise-grade planning platform. Today, Vena combines the familiarity of Excel with Microsoft's cloud ecosystem, enterprise data and AI to deliver modern, enterprise-grade planning and decision-making capabilities. Backed by more than $470 million in growth capital, recognized as a leader in the 2026 BARC Planning Survey and the Nucleus Research CPM Technology Value Matrix, and strengthened by recent strategic acquisitions in AI and enterprise data, Vena is entering an exciting new phase of innovation and growth.

This is a newly elevated senior leadership role, created to give Vena's next phase of growth the leadership it demands.

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Vice President, Software Development will define and execute Vena's engineering strategy while building a high-performing, scalable global organization to deliver it. The mandate spans the full breadth of engineering leadership: establishing an operating model that brings consistency and execution excellence across multiple development teams, developing leaders into a strong bench with real succession depth, and instituting the KPIs and operational rigor to improve delivery predictability, quality and efficiency. It also carries a clear strategic dimension, partnering with Product, Architecture, Infrastructure and Security to prioritize investment, and standing at the executive and board level as the credible, visible face of engineering. This role offers a rare opportunity to lead an established, globally recognized SaaS engineering organization at a pivotal moment. The successful candidate will help shape Vena's AI strategy, scale engineering capability, and influence the future direction of a business that continues to invest aggressively in innovation, product development and growth.

The ideal candidate brings fifteen or more years of progressive engineering leadership, with a proven record of scaling high-performing organizations inside SaaS or cloud businesses through periods of rapid growth. They carry deep technical credibility in modern, cloud-native architecture, paired with the organizational maturity to design operating models, develop leadership talent and build succession strength across global teams. They understand how to translate emerging technology, particularly agentic AI, into real gains in developer productivity and delivery speed. Equally important, they bring the executive presence, business acumen, and collaborative leadership style needed to earn trust and credibility with peers, senior executives and the Board.

Above all, Vena is seeking a thoughtful, authentic, and change-oriented leader who listens first, builds credibility through consistency, and turns that trust into lasting improvement in how software gets built, all while protecting the collaborative, people-first culture that has made Vena one of Canada's most admired technology employers.
