Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller and Director of Finance and Administration will provide comprehensive finance and accounting support across all business entities within the Con-Elco Group. This role will lead and oversee all core accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, general ledger maintenance, cash flow management, job costing, joint venture accounting, bank reconciliations, and internal controls. In addition to financial responsibilities, the Controller/Director will also lead key operational functions, including ERP system management, the oversight of outsourced IT services, and in-house HR responsibilities such as employee relations and training.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in construction accounting practices, including job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition. Experience in joint venture accounting is essential, along with strong business acumen and the ability to support diverse operational and investment entities within a privately held organization. You have a proven track record managing payroll for a complex, mid-sized organization (100+ employees), and experience with both union and non-union payroll is considered a strong asset. Success in this role requires demonstrated financial leadership in an owner-led or entrepreneurial setting, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. You must be able to work in the office full-time (5 days/week).
