Agriculture Financial Services Corporation, Leader, Portfolio & Projects

Alberta

Agriculture Financial Services Corporation (AFSC) is seeking a forward-thinking Leader, Portfolio & Projects to guide the successful delivery of transformative, enterprise-wide initiatives that support Alberta’s vibrant agricultural sector. This pivotal leadership role reports directly to the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer and serves as a strategic partner across the executive and senior management teams.

AFSC is a provincial Crown corporation supporting Alberta’s agriculture sector through innovative lending, insurance, and risk management programs. With deep roots in rural communities, AFSC partners with farmers and agribusinesses to promote stability, growth, and sustainability. Headquartered in Lacombe, AFSC has been a trusted ally to producers since 1938.

As the Leader, Portfolio & Projects, you will build and lead a high-performing team, champion project management excellence, and drive strategic alignment across a complex portfolio of enterprise initiatives. Your mandate is to ensure AFSC’s most critical programs are not only effectively prioritized and resourced but also positioned to deliver lasting value to Alberta’s producers and communities. Working closely with business and digital leaders, you’ll bring clarity, governance, and momentum to projects that shape the future of agri-finance, risk management, and client service.

This is a compelling opportunity for an experienced leader with deep expertise in portfolio and program management, strong financial acumen, and a passion for public service. You bring an enterprise lens and understanding of risk management, complementing your process optimization experience and supported by certifications such as PMP and Lean Six Sigma. You are a natural collaborator, communicator, and visionary who can translate strategy into action and outcomes.

At AFSC, we’re more than a lender or insurer—we’re a trusted partner to Alberta’s producers. Join a purpose-driven team rooted in community, resilience, and innovation, and make your mark on the future of agriculture in Alberta.
