Director of Finance, Durham Region Non-Profit Housing

The Durham Region Non-Profit Housing Corporation (DRNPHC) is a social housing provider established in 1985 to serve low and moderate income households in Durham Region. It owns and operates 1,198 housing units across 20 sites, offering a mix of townhouses, low-rise, and high-rise apartments for seniors, families, and individuals. DRNPHC’s mission is to meet the housing needs of the Region’s diverse population by maintaining a practical, affordable, and community-integrated housing portfolio, while also supporting residents with related services to promote housing stability.

Reporting to and acting as a true partner to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Finance will provide proactive financial and strategic advice to drive financial and accounting performance, and ensure long term growth. This strategic leadership role focuses on driving process improvements, and ensuring operational excellence. The Director provides financial insights to guide decisions, oversees planning, investment, reporting, and risk management, and ensures fiscal health. Additionally, the Director fosters an inclusive workplace, ensures operational efficiency.

While upholding operational excellence, you will have the chance to shape and evolve the function, identifying new opportunities to strengthen finance. Your history of implementing integrated policies, processes, systems, and programs demonstrates your ability to safeguard and optimize organizational resources. Guided by purpose and a vision for the future, you excel in organizational leadership and business strategy, positioning the organization for long-term success. With extensive expertise in finance, you cultivate a culture of partnership and support, equipping partners with the insight to make informed decisions and enhancing financial literacy across the organisation. An accounting designation (CPA or CA) is required.
