President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Global Automakers of Canada

This is an opportunity to shape the future of the automotive industry sector during a period of profound change. Global Automakers of Canada (GAC) is at the forefront of a transformative era guiding policy, advocacy, and strategic priorities. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will set the strategic vision for the Association, champion the collective interests of global automotive manufacturers operating in Canada and strengthen GAC’s influence as a trusted and solutions-oriented voice in national policy discussions.

The CEO will lead the development and execution of a forward-looking strategy, advance public policy positions on safety, environmental performance, trade, and regulatory alignment, and foster consensus and engagement across a diverse membership. As the primary spokesperson for the Association, the CEO will represent GAC with federal, provincial, and municipal governments, industry stakeholders, and the media. They will work closely with the Board on governance, strategic oversight, and operational priorities, and lead a small, high-performing team. The CEO will anticipate and prepare for emerging trends and policy shifts, ensuring that GAC and its members remain competitive, innovative, and well-positioned for the future of mobility in Canada.

The ideal candidate is an effective and strategic leader with a proven track record navigating complex, and multi-stakeholder environments. Skilled at building consensus and inspiring confidence among members, you lead with clarity, purpose, and poise. With exceptional communication skills, ideally in both official languages, you engage effectively with government and industry, providing visionary leadership to position GAC as a trusted and influential voice in Canada’s automotive sector. You bring progressive leadership experience, including reporting to a Board, with proven success in advocacy, government and stakeholder relations. You are a self-starter with strong financial acumen and the ability to balance long-term vision with operational execution,

This is an upcoming vacancy and the salary range for the position is $170,000 to $200,000.
