Chief Executive Officer, Victoria Park Community Homes

Hamilton - ON

Hybrid

Victoria Park Community Homes (VPCH) is one of Ontario’s oldest and largest private non-profit housing providers, managing a portfolio of more than 3,700 homes across multiple municipalities in Southern Ontario. Since its founding in 1974, VPCH has been committed to strengthening individuals, families, and communities by providing stable, quality, and affordable housing. Building on a strong foundation of collaboration, service, and entrepreneurial spirit, the organization is continuing to evolve and grow to meet the changing needs of the communities it serves.

With the planned retirement of the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) this fall, VPCH is seeking a mission-driven leader to guide the organization into its next chapter. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will be responsible for overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance. This is a compelling opportunity to lead an organization entering a period of meaningful growth, driven by rising demand for affordable housing, expanded partnership opportunities, and strong organizational momentum.

As the organization’s primary ambassador, the CEO will deepen relationships with government, funders, and community partners, while enhancing the organization’s profile as a leader in affordable housing and community development. The incoming CEO will be tasked with strengthening positioning VPCH for sustainable growth. The CEO will balance expansion with long-term sustainability, overseeing the continued growth of the housing portfolio while navigating funding pressures, development risks, and increasing complexity in tenant needs. At the same time, the CEO will champion a tenant-centred approach, ensuring that service delivery remains responsive, equitable, and focused on community impact.

This is an opportunity to lead an organization that makes a tangible difference in people’s lives every day. The ideal candidate is a seasoned and values-driven executive with senior leadership experience in housing, real estate, development, or a related sector. You bring strong financial and operational acumen, a track record of leading growth and transformation, and a deep understanding of complex stakeholder environments. You are an effective contract negotiator, and relationship builder, comfortable working with and reporting to a Board, government, and community partners, and possess the emotional intelligence, resilience, and judgment required to lead in a mission-driven context.
