Vice President, People & Corporate Services, Claystone Waste Ltd.

The Claystone Story

Claystone was formally established as an independently managed, for-profit corporation in 2020, but its leadership in waste management spans more than three decades. Previously operating as Beaver Municipal Solutions and the Beaver Regional Waste Management Services Commission, the organization has built a strong legacy of innovation, operational excellence, and reliable service.

The Opportunity

Claystone Waste is at an inflection point, shifting from a community-rooted operation into a growth oriented, scalable enterprise operating with public accountability and private sector discipline. The Vice President will develop the people and corporate-services functions that set the foundation for Claystone’s disciplined execution and transformative growth strategy. This role will modernize HR practices and talent systems to build organizational capability and support scale, while strengthening procurement governance to improve discipline and transparency. Collectively, these priorities will help to accelerate change, build stakeholder confidence, and ensure Claystone is ready for expansion and acquisition activity.

The Individual

The ideal candidate is a seasoned, handson enterprise leader who can quickly build trust and foster alignment within a highly operational organization navigating growth, complexity, and heightened stakeholder visibility. They bring a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams in high-risk, high-stakes environments, guiding organizations through periods of transformation while enhancing safety, consistency, and overall performance. This leader combines candour with empathy, being able to blend the two to enable and empower others throughout the organization. They have the ability to translate complexity into clear, actionable plans, while coaching leaders, embedding scalable people practices, and building the talent and succession infrastructure needed to support long-term capability. Equally important, they bring the maturity and resilience to navigate politically nuanced, public-facing environments credibly representing the organization with municipal, community, and external stakeholders, and fostering alignment through transparency and foresight.
