The organization plays a crucial role in supporting the foodservice sector by uniting industry professionals and fueling success through advocacy, connection, and support.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Government Relations and Public Affairs, the Vice President, Communications and Marketing, provides senior leadership over the association’s communications, marketing, public affairs, and reputation management functions. The Vice President shapes and amplifies Restaurants Canada’s voice by leading strategic communications and advocacy messaging, overseeing all external-facing content, and translating complex policy and sector issues into clear, compelling narratives for members, government, media, and the public. The role serves as a senior spokesperson, leads media relations and issues management, and advises the CEO and executive team on messaging, positioning, and reputational risk. The Vice President also oversees brand strategy, marketing and sector promotion initiatives, digital engagement, and content governance, ensuring consistency and alignment across all platforms. In addition, they lead and develop a high-performing integrated team, manage budgets and performance measures, collaborate closely with research, policy, government relations, and membership teams, and represent the association externally to strengthen its profile, credibility, and advocacy impact.
You are a senior communications and public affairs leader with a track record of leading integrated communications and marketing functions in complex, advocacy and policy-driven environments. You bring sound judgment and a strategic mindset, with the ability to distill sensitive, high-stakes issues into clear, credible messaging for diverse audiences, including members, government, media, and the public. A trusted advisor to executives, you are comfortable serving as a senior spokesperson and leading reputational risk, issues management, and crisis communications. You set direction, ensure consistently high-quality output, and lead teams with clarity and accountability in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities. You have experience building strong media relationships, guiding high-performing teams, and aligning communications strategies with broader advocacy and industry association objectives. Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset.
